Apple Bourbon.

I was recently talking with someone about how our diets change depending on the season. Now if you live in a climate that is nice and warm year round, you may not understand this as much as those that live within areas that have vastly different weather between seasons. 

In the summer we are used to lighter fare - salads, seafood, fresh produce, BBQ foods (okay, this is not necessarily light fare, but it is summer food through and through). As we move into fall, the food becomes a lot heavier and transitions into comfort food. Let's be honest, would you want a salad on a 50 degree day in October? No, I want a bowl of soup, or chili, or a roast. We want foods that are going to keep us warm and plump us up for the cold winter months. 

Now this does not have to be exclusive to foods. What about beverages? Pumpkin spiced lattes, check. Apple cider, check. Muled wines, check! What about this one - apple bourbon? If this hasn't crossed your mind yet this year, you are in luck. With only three ingredients and a little bit of time, you will have the perfect addition to a fall cocktail. | Apple Bourbon |


1 750-ml bottle of bourbon
4 Fuji apples, cored and sliced
4 cinnamon sticks


  1. Combine a 750-ml bottle of bourbon, 4 cored, sliced Fuji apples, and 4 cinnamon sticks in a pitcher.
  2. Cover; chill for 3 days.
  3. Strain.
