Have you ever woken up, so tired, that you feel drugged? I'm not talking about just the standard tired. I am talking about a tired so intense that it feels as though someone injected you with something as you slept the night before. Eyelids heavy. Inability to recognize your surroundings. A slight nausea feeling in your stomach. The absolutely detest of anything that requires you to get out from underneath your covers. Welcome to my morning.
The second my alarm goes off - 5:00am some days, 7:00 others - I am like a deer caught in the headlights. Nothing quite registers like it should. I have found one of the only things that helps me get moving in the morning is music. I heavily roll over in my bed, throw my numb arm at my cell phone, drag it off the window sill and stumble through my apps, looking for Spotify. Some days I am in need of an upbeat song, others a song that matches the weather. Yes, when it rains I put on incredibly depressing music to match the sky's tears. When it's snowing, even if it is February 19th, I will play Christmas music. That's how I roll.
Here are some of the songs that I have been waking up to lately. Enjoy!
