Drink Soma.

How about we play a quick game of "Can Tommy Get Anymore Basic?" - object of the game, read this article and then decide if I am as basic as they come. You be the judge. No offense taken either way. 

Let me start by saying that I am well aware that everyone on this planet shares at least one of my New Year's Resolutions. That being said, I don't care because 2017 is all about living my best life. This year, I vowed to a number of goals: 

  1. Join a gym, work with a personal trainer, gain muscle mass.
  2. Drink more water.
  3. Write for my enjoyment 4 times a week (does not include writing for Smak or The American Swede).
  4. Write daily in The Five Minute Journal.
  5. Live my best life.

Some of these are more difficult than others, some I am terrified of. In complete honestly, the drinking water makes me nervous. Not because it is difficult or a scary goal, but simply because I forget to do it. And really, I find myself drinking more coffee throughout the day rather than water. Sometimes I try to convince myself that the water in the coffee with hydrate me...ha. Funny Tommy!

What I've done the past 11 days is bring my Soma water bottle around with me, wherever I go. If I have a water within reach at all times, it's so much easier to reach for the water instead of running to a coffee shop to get my caffeine fix. 11 days into the new year and I would say that I am off to a decent start. There is still process to be made, accountability to be hand, and goals to be achieved, but I am thrilled with how 2017 has been thus far.
