Friday Favorites

This week...where in the world has it gone?! Granted, a "snow day" on Monday helped the week pass quicker than normal. But none-the-less, I cannot believe that it is already Friday, February 6th. It's like my dad used to tell me when I was in college, enjoy life because time only moves quicker as you get older.

As with most Fridays, I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you all. Enjoy!

grooming | floyd's barbershop : I've been in search of a good barber since I first moved to Chicago last January. For a while I even went to my old hairdresser in the suburbs out of ease and comfort. Although, now that I am living and working in the city, it made no sense for me to make a trip back to the suburbs just to get my hair cut. After a coworker recommended Floyd's Barbershop, I gave it a try and immediately this is where I would be going from then on.

social media | instagram : I am a social media fiend. I am on Facebook everyday. I am learning the nuisances of Twitter. I lay in bed and pin on Pinterest. But my favorite of all social media platforms? Instagram. I've always had a passion for photography, so being able to share my own pictures, and view others, is right up my alley. I like it so much that I have three accounts - thomasengs, smakeats, and theamericanswede.

apparel | atlas socks : I went to a fashion so a few months ago for this company, Ministry of Supply. They make performance wear, but the clothing they sell is not just workout clothes. The pants and shirts are ones that you can feel comfortable riding your bike to work and then going about the rest of your day in. As they say, "why does that performance stop the moment you change for work, a day in the city, or a night on the town? It’s time we stop choosing between performance and fashion, and start asking for more."

music | 50 shades of grey : Okay, okay...guilty pleasure of the week. The mommy porn movie isn't in theaters yet. But the music has made its way onto the internet and it has been on constant repeat. This soundtrack is one of the best I have heard in an incredibly long time. So if you are hung up on the content of the story, forget that and listen to the music.

outerwear | warrent bomber : Chicago winters are harsh, everyone knows it. So when it comes to staying warm during my morning and evening commutes, I need a jacket that will last and do its job. This coast is perfect for braving any winter day.
