If you follow my blog, I am assuming you are a foodie like myself. Or at least I hope you are a foodie, otherwise I'm not quite sure why you keep coming back. Although I thank you for your support! As you all know, I started this blog out of boredom and a sickening keenness for stuffing my mouth with food. Did I ever expect that two and a half years later I would be writing and sharing my experiences with the Internet every day? No. It's been an amazing journey and I am excited to see what the future holds for SMAK.
One of my favorite aspects of being a food blogger is having the opportunity to read other blogs and be inspired by the work that others are doing. Whether I like the blogs for their recipes, the writing or the photography, there is something about the following websites that have me hooked.
Local Milk is a blog written by Beth Kirby in Tennessee. This is my photography kick. Every time she posts a new entry I am blown away by the richness of each image. It kind of makes me feel awful about what I put out into the world. But I use this as inspiration to keep growing and getting better in my craft.
Sprouted Kitchen is another go-to blog. I love the simplicity of the website. The white background. The clean lines and beautiful photographs. Sara and Hugh Forte work perfectly together, complimenting each of their talents. This should absolutely be a bookmarked website.
i am a food blog is a given for me. The food is incredible. And like all other food blogs, I cannot get enough of the pictures. I know, I am starting to sound like a broken record. But what the hell do you expect? A food blog without great photographs is a worthless piece of crap. Harsh, but I want to be able to look at an image of what is be described and begin salivating. That is what I look for in a great food blog. Well done, Stephanie, you've succeeded on all counts.
SPOON FORK BACON - let's face it. I am just obsessed with the title. Well, partially because I want bacon all the time. But on a serious note, Teri Lyn Fisher and Jenny Park do an incredible job and creative fun, beautiful and captivating content that any reader can relate to.
Turntable Kitchen has been a favorite since almost the very beginning of my time as a blogger. The simple combination of music and food seems so elementary, yet it is everything. Every single time I am in the kitchen, whether I am making a quick omelette for breakfast or preparing a large 5 course meal, there has to be music in the background. It helps get me in the zone and sets the ambiance for the entire cooking experience.
I hope you take a few minutes to check out these websites and admire some of the incredible work that these creatives do on a daily basis. Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you on Monday!
