Okay, I lied. One more (I hope) summer post. Can you tell that I am not quite ready to let go of summer? It's most likely because Chicago barely even had a summer. Sure, it was warm for a few days, but nothing to get excited over. Perhaps we'll have an indian summer? I'm not holding my breath...


I have the tendency to get incredibly nostalgic whenever I look at pictures from my time living in Granada, Spain. Beyond that though, I hear Spanish being spoken and get nostalgic. I eat Spanish food and get nostalgic. And I drink certain beverages and get nostalgic. The fact that I haven't been able to go back since I left six years ago doesn't really help. Man, do I wish I could go back!


I know that I have mentioned this drink before! It is very similar to sangria, but a little simpler. Simply mix equal parts red wine and sparkling lemonade and you've got yourself a refreshing summer drink!

Tinto de Verano Makes 1 cocktail


red wine sparkling lemonade


  1. Fill a large wineglass, goblet, or highball glass with ice.
  2. Fill with equal parts red wine and sparkling lemonade. Adjust based on taste.
  3. Garnish with a lemon wheel (not necessary at all...just start drinking!).
