It's been two weeks since Smak went quiet. We're back!
Over the past few months I've tried to take a metaphorical step back from blogging. This blog has been in existence for almost three years. It's insane how time flies, isn't it? Even after it all, I still love blogging just as much as I did the first time I wrote on this site. Nothing has changed. The passion is still the same.
However, what was once just a personal outlet, has begun feeling like a lot more than just that. While you will absolutely get a taste of my life in the posts, my intent for this website is to provide people with a place to learn something new, to find inspiration, or to simply take a few minutes to escape your daily routine. Smak is no longer just a blog, it's something much more, a destination. So what exactly does this all mean for Smak?
- FOOD | You didn't think you were going to get rid of recipes did you? After all, isn't that what this website was founded on? The food aspect of Smak is here to stay.
- DINING | Smak has had some of this in the past, let us not forget Mercadito Fish or RPM Italian. Moving forward, this will take a much more prominent role on the website. From the newest hot spots in New York, to my favorite coffee shop in Chicago, I will be providing you with incredible places to check out.
- TRAVEL | This is one of the biggest changes for Smak, one that I'm thrilled about! Food is incredible, obviously I am obsessed with it here at Smak. But how does food factor into experiences that you have while traveling? Seems like a silly question to me, but it's a very real one! Whether it's within the United States or thousands of miles away in Europe, I will be bringing you some of our favorite things to do while traveling, some must-see sites, and how to pack and prepare for your trips.
- SPOTLIGHT | Smak Spotlight is my favorite aspect of the new website. Within Chicago alone, there are countless people who work within the food and lifestyle industries. I see them on Instagram, read about them online, but I want to get to know them! What makes them tick? Where is their favorite spot to grab a burger? How did they get to where they are now and what keeps them motivated? I will be featuring these amazing individuals in this new segment.
Clearly, there has been a lot running through my mind over the last few months. And I am still trying to make sense of it all. None-the-less, I am excited to be taking this next step forward with Smak and to have you along on the journey with me. Thank you for all of your continued support!
